Export a CiteSmart Library (i.e. to use with EndNote)

To export a CiteSmart library to use with another reference management software like EndNote, go to the CiteSmart File menu and click “Export”. The following window will open:

You then have to choose the export format from the following options: PubMed, Refer, RIS and HTML. For EndNote or Reference Manager compatibility, the RIS format is recommended. The HTML format can be used to create a web page with references.

Note: references will be formatted using the current style.

You can choose to export the entire library (All Library), selected references, or references with a particular Label.

Depending on the export format chosen, the codec should default to the setting for maximum compatibility. However it can be modified in case you notice that some characters are not correctly exported (missing accents, etc.).

Finally, choose a file name for your exported library and click on “Export” to save the file.
