CiteSmart
and Web Content Integration
The
CiteClick and RefClick technologies are currently working with Internet
Explorer (6+), FireFox (3+) and Flock (2+). CiteClick and RefClick
provide a bridge between web content, word
documents and local CiteSmart libraries.
1-
Web Browsers
- Internet
Explorer: CiteClick and RefClick work
(out of the box) in Internet
Explorer. It is recommended however to start IE from the CiteSmart
toolbar.
- FireFox: the
CiteSmart extension is necessary to see the
CiteClick and RefClick buttons in FireFox. The location of the
extension remains
unknown at the time of writing this guide. Very likely, the extension
will be available via the FireFox
add-ons webiste. Users can also check MireSoft's website
that provides updated information.
- Flock : Similar to FireFox. Use the same extension and install it.
Flock uses the Gecko engine (developped by Mozilla and used in FireFox).
2-
PubMed and PubMed Central from the National Library
of Medicine
The
integration with PubMed website was the first that CiteSmart supported.
CiteSmart is heavily oriented toward the use of references in Biology,
however its structure makes it versatile. It can be used in almost any
discipline. Whenever searching PubMed, CiteSmart will always place
CiteClick and RefClick buttons next to each reference encountered
providing a direct bridge between PubMed and your document. In fact,
all of PubMed becomes your library, from which any reference
can be cited in a single click from the website. PubMed Central, is
part of PubMed and is a repository of full-text article. CiteSmart will
automatically download PDFs for theses article according to the user
preferences.
3-
Connotea from the Nature Publishing Group

MireSoft
is proud to be a Partner of the NPG's Connotea. Through a formal
partnership, CiteSmart will provide not only integration between word
and Connotea libraries and references (as it does since CS 2.0), but
also synchronisation options that will allow a user to synchronize
local CiteSmart libraries with online Connotea libraries. NPG and
MireSoft will work together to provide a tight integration between
CiteSmart and Connotea for the benefits of our users. Connotea

4-
Google Books from Google

You
can now cite / save book citations in your library directly
from a Google Book search.
5-
Ovid-SP from Wolters Kluwer

Ovid
SP - Medline
users will now be able to also use CiteSmart in order to cite
references and store them locally. Note that the use of Ovid SP
requires that a license has been purchased from your institution.
Although no formal partnership exist between MireSoft and Wolters
Kluwer, we are willing to invest time and effort into providing users
with a tighter integration. Do not hesitate to contact Wolters Kluwer /
Ovid SP team and mention CiteSmart.
5-
BibSonomy from
the University of Kasell
(Germany)
"BibSonomy
is run by the Knowledge
& Data Engineering Group of the University of Kassel,
Germany. This system is intended to support everyone, but in particular
researchers, in sharing bookmarks and bibliographies."
